Bosphorus serial murders

2000-2007. The thing about the Bosphorus serial (Döner) murders was that police just considered that Turks killed Turks:

"failure to explore a racist motive and the initial suspicions about the victims' relatives and friends"

mr biggs

Nice work if you can get it, misters national securities, FBI, RCMP, Mr Biggs. 1) I wonder whose idea it was to blow the fuck up a via train. 2) I wonder whose idea it was to blow up BC's legislative assembly, find some fucking idiot drug addicts to do it, Mr FBI Biggs.

Argument: There wouldn't actually be these terroribles if it weren't for Mr Biggs, sekyurity-partnerin high-rollin cash-throwin safe-house safe-mansion anonin moneybaggin dupin terror-makin and tax-dollars-workin mind-theatrin no chaos, supplyin.

Entrapment, nice work if you can get it. Business is booming. I'd reckon it's the same fucking guy. And the Cleveland occupy encampment bridge bombers. And the eco-terrorist, recently released (“Anna” was a pink-haired 17-year-old who the FBI recruited).

Alrighty. John Tory, if elected mayor, will create a subway line that doesn’t go underground.

BC Rail

I don't know how much ("taxpayers"/public) R&D money was invested in BC Rail (PGE-BCR), since February 27th, 1912, but in 2004 Premier Gordon Campbell's Liberal Socred-Con government broke its election pledge not to sell it.

http://pgrfm.bc.ca
It was owned by the public as a crown corporation from 1918 until 2004. In September 2011, Gordon Campbell became Canada's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. A terrible mistake, 2003.

there he is! poet lariat

Wikipedia: Noah (orant)
Jet stream gets stuck. The weather system came over the mountains from the Pacific. As it spun and stalled over the foothills, it pulled in moisture from Saskatchewan, the United States and the Gulf of Mexico.

As Parliamentary Poet, Fred Wah had one assignment: Diamond Jubilee. Souds easy nufh, and they're hiring! Queen's a queen for sixty, ain't that nifty. [£900,000]

Nomination deadline: Position of Canadian Parliamentary Poet Laureate, 2014-2016. Deadline to submit nominations: Wednesday 3 July 2013.

Wah says he would like more work. According to the National Post, he has a "list of what would have been more worthy topics for Canada’s national poet to tackle, apparently taking aim at the Conservative government’s immigration reforms, its legislative agenda on aboriginal issues, its strong backing for Israel on questions of peace and security in the Middle East, and its openness to the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline."

According to Wah: “I wish that my government had asked me to write poetry about immigration policy, about Idle No More, about Canada’s complicity in the Middle East, the Enbridge pipeline... I haven’t been asked to do any of those things.” ("A Poet Without Poems," National Post)

The position of poet lariat was vacant from April to Dec 2011. Wah is a former teacher at Selkirk College, David Thompson University Centre and the University of Calgary.

lisa raitt: strikes are sexy

Never mind about the AECL Candu binder; it wasn't the same as Maxime Bernier (Beauce) and the tits cleavage biker chick NATO files. Never mind about the sexy isotope shortage for cancer patients. Never mind about no one signing off on the CEO, Toronto Port Authority expenses or a $9000 lunch. And just never mind about proroguing (and even more proroguing, forty days and forty nights). btw, are MPs 'essential services'?

Geez. Electro-Motive plant in London (now closed) and its Caterpillar parent strike in Joliet, Illinois. Canada Post. Air Canada flight attendants. Pilots. Mechanics ("flying coffins" & Aveos outsourcing), baggage handlers, cargo agents. Canadian Pacific Railway and Pershing Square's 14.2% equity stake.

Welp. Saskatchewan essential services legislation deemed unconstitutional (07 Feb. 2012).

Recalibration: On January 19, 2010, Raitt moved from the Ministry of Natural Resources to the Labour Ministry.

The house was beginning to shake,
And good press it just did not make.

Nuclear workers: 900 scientists, engineers, technologists and technicians said 94+ per cent of members sanctioned the strike action on Thursday, May 3rd 2012: a stinging indictment of SNC-Lavalin's cavalier management style and brinkmanship bargaining. A union spokeswoman said Candu is looking to gut most parts of the collective agreement.

Ongoing: RCMP officers want to end a ban, in place since 1918, on Mounties forming a union or police association and having the right to collectively bargain. (Toronto Star, Nov 20, 2012.) "Toxic workplace": Mounted Police Professional Association of Canada (MPPAC), a merger of BC and ON associations, is expecting a ruling from the Ontario Court of Appeal in spring 2012.

Lay-offs: Canadian Space Agency. 100 staff and more to come? Speaking of SNC-Lavalin Defence Programs Inc. (AECL) and MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Inc., there's now a signed contract "to extend operational services for up to eight years for the Canadian Department of National Defence’s twelve Kingston-class Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels...Although their primary mission is coastal surveillance, the vessels perform a wide variety of operational tasks including search and rescue, fisheries and environmental monitoring, disaster relief, mine countermeasures and scientific research."

Does this make sense? The entire program of lay-offs in the public service is expected to cost Canadian taxpayers more than $2 billion.

Weird: Health care workers in Alberta have not had the legal right to strike since 1983.

spelunking of immolation: 2railroads & china

Canadians helped China with theirs (Qinghai–Xizang railway, Bombardier, China-Tibet) by providing special cars. Chinese-Tibetan folk singer Han Hong has a song called Tianlu, Road to Heaven; 天路, praising the railway.

bison herds, rail & cattle barons, U.S. army, fences & extinction

Kill the food, kill the Indian. I am too lazy to tell the stinkhole story. One year buffalo just didn't come back to the northern range. Here is a haunting painting.

by Judith Dragonette
RECENT NEWS: The bull, the living embodiment of this country's untamed spirit, was killed for walking onto the hobby ranch of the wealthy Povah family.  Mr. Povah had complained that the buffalo was "threatening my fence."  The Montana Department of Livestock (DOL) agent that shot him made no attempt to move the bull off the private property and onto the adjacent Gallatin National Forest. Buffalo Field Campaign West Yellowstone, penning, corrals, captivity, brucellosis etc.

CN, Bill Gates or The Colours of War (Matt Cohen)

Now that Bill Gates is the biggest shareholder in CN (Canadian National Railway) at 10.04%, a percentage that he's been working on increasing since 2006 and like Warren Buffet who ventured into (coal?) rail in the USA and formerly did Boystown in Omaha - the two of them took a fly-over at the tar-and-oil sands in 2008 - or, even like Gordon Campbell's BC Rail [redacted], it makes The Colours of War seem like SPP or SP or CCEE and Fraser Amero soft-sell, soft war backwash, at the moment.
"Every day it seemed there were new declarations of emergencies and martial law. Not exactly a new law; things being the same as always but carried one step further."
The map of the train, John Boy Bush Harper (Johny Crackle Sings), Theodore Beam (the light at the end of the tunnel), Christopher Columbus Perestrello.

The quiet revolutionaries in executive councils. He wasn't kidding. You won't recognize Canada when I get through with it.

True, there are coaches where bona fide travelers, unaware of the real purpose of the journey, are crowded together and give an appearance of ordinariness to the train. But there are also sealed vans, and these are filled with arms and ammunition, and are in the control of a group of guerillas. Armies Moving in the Night: The Fictions of Matt Cohen, George Woodcock
