MacKay’s briefing note says that while the Canadian Forces mandate is to defend Canada and help exercise its sovereignty, assistance in the case of an emergency “should be viewed as a ‘force of last resort,’ to be requested only when all other civilian options and assets have been exhausted.” source

Except for fishing trips. In other news, January 2012, 14-year-old Burton Winters walked 19 kilometres before he froze to death in Newfoundland. It was a search start delay of 36 hours and a full night.

简体中文 and drugs etc.

So, the Canadian cheap drug guy (Andrew Strempler), who sells affordable medication to internet Americans and so on, was arrested. So many words floating around with it: generic, counterfeit, affordable, RxNorth, CanadaDrugs.com, Pharmacheck, Mediplan Pharmacy.

There are other companies named in the subpoena, and other drugs besides Teva Pharmaceutical's Adderall XR (ADHD) that university students like so much, e.g., cancer drugs, Avastin and Altuzan, or Ritalin. This was weird. A chemical simply ... popped inside a refrigerator.

Naeja Pharmaceutical explosion - 7/26/2011 (CTV)
The FDA first warned in February that a counterfeit supply of the widely-used Avastin had turned up in the U.S. The Wall Street Journal has traced that supply through a network of firms in Canada, Barbados, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Switzerland, Egypt and Turkey.

the pretend arsonist and wildfires

Not wanting to appear as though the whole of northern Alberta could go up in flames -- including the oil fields, oilsands, gas wells, and any small town or city, hectare after hectare -- the Alberta government fabricates an arsonist: On Tuesday, the province said the fire was deliberately set and that investigators have pinpointed the ignition site and cause – though they wouldn’t reveal either. ($700m Slave Lake fire, Nov 1, 2011)

'I watched the whole town burn (May 16, 2011)
It wasn't out-of-control, really. It's better this way. There was no raging forest fire that overtook the city. No siree. It isn't a PR ('arsonist') stunt. It's just a little .... ditty ... to protect investments and ... and .... and .... reputation in the dry, dry pine beetle or peatless woods and a changing volatile climate.

Nothing got so hot, so fast, it blew up first. The Texas terminals are fine too. (See: A Look Back at the 2011 Texas Wildfires)
